This Ikea Hack has to be one of my all-time DIY project I have done in my life! It was so easy and quick to do, and all for under $25.
This is my first Ikea Hack. I used the BRUNSTA pendant lamp and my fav FEJKA potted artificial plant to create a modern and bright pineapple sculpture for my studio!
- 1 Ikea BRUNSTA pendant lamp
- 1 Ikea FEJKA artificial plant
- Gold spray paint
- Glue gun
- Newspaper, cardboard or an old piece of fabric to protect the area when you spray paint
To make your pineapple, first, prepare an area outdoors with your newspaper or cardboard to spray paint the pendant lamp with your gold spray. I like to try to keep the spray paint around 8-10″ away from the object I am trying to paint to avoid drips. Wait at least two hours for the paint to dry.
In the meantime, separate the green piece of the artificial plant from the pot, so you’ll get the piece and the separate strings of leaves. Paint the circle base with the spray paint, because this will be your pineapple top. When is dry, re-attach each string of green and glue the circle to the top of the metal lamp.
That’s it! Enjoy your custom/made pineapple.
So simple right?
